The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) Novices/ Juniors National Championship and Qualifiers will be held on Sunday and renown national athletes Nadine Taharally, Paul Adams, Wazim Mohamed and Franklyn Brisport will be looking to achieve qualifying weights for an international event scheduled for August 17 later this year.
In a release, the GAPL is reminding athletes that weigh-in begins at 06:00 hrs and ends at 07:30 hrs (6am to 7:30am). Competition will begin at 08:00 hrs (8am) at the Saint Stanislaus auditorium.
Due to COVID- 19 the GAPLF will not be allowing spectators at the venue and each team will only be allowed one coach. Everyone present will be expected to wear a mask. The competition will be live- streamed for the virtual audience via the GAPLF Facebook page.
