After a prolonged period the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport has made its first step to appoint a Director of Sport through the listing of members of the National Sports Commission (NSC) along with the Chairman.

Long surmised as the next Director of Sport, renown football organizer Kashif Muhammed has been named Chairman of the NSC while newly elected Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) President Bissoondyal Singh along with Philip Fernandes, Cristy Campbell, Dellon Davidson and Cheteram Ramdial are appointed as NSC members.
Fernandes who holds the post of Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) President is a long time sport administrator while Campbell was recently elected the second ever female President of the Guyana Tennis Association (GTA).
The Official Gazette of the appointments was published on May 22 and announced via the ministry’s social media pages earlier today. It stated; “The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport is pleased to share the official appointment of the National Sports Commission. The Ministry would like to congratulate the persons appointed and wish them all the best. The appointment of the National Sports Commission paves the way for the appointment of the new Director of Sport”.
