Haynes & Ramdhani heading to Junior Pan Am Games in November

The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) has qualified for the Junior Pan American Games (CALI 2021) which will be held in Colombia in November later this year. The qualification has seen the GBA being awarded two spots at the Games ( one male, one female).

According to a release from the Association, the qualification came about as a result of the Ramdhani siblings; Priyanna and Narayan’s World Rankings.
However, as Narayan will be over the required Under-23 age limit, Guyana’s next best junior male player, Akili Haynes, will take that spot. Haynes is an up and coming National player who was a bronze medalist at the Carebaco Juniors in 2018 and also attended the World Juniors in Canada in the same year.

President of the GBA, Gokarn Ramdhani in the release to the media noted that the Association “is pleased with the outcome of the qualification results once again and will be meeting with the GOA and Minister of Sports (Charles Ramson Jr.) to finalize funding for their training leading up to the games”.
